I just returned from an unforgettable trip to Orlando, Florida. I want to share my experience with you, especially if you are a digital nomad or a solo traveler like me. Orlando is a fantastic city, famous for its theme parks, but there’s much more to discover.
Arrival in Orlando
I arrived at Orlando International Airport, which is well connected with flights from all over the world. From there, it’s easy to reach downtown thanks to the various transportation options available, such as taxis, shuttles, and ride-sharing services. If you prefer a more economical option, there’s also a very efficient public bus service.
Accommodation
I chose to stay in a hostel in downtown Orlando. It’s a perfect solution for solo travelers because it allows you to meet other people and share experiences. Additionally, many hostels offer coworking spaces, ideal for digital nomads who need a stable internet connection.
Exploring the City
Orlando is known for its theme parks. I visited Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, which are absolute must-sees. I recommend purchasing tickets online in advance to save time and money. If you love nature, you can’t miss the Harry P. Leu Gardens and Lake Eola Park, perfect for a relaxing walk.
Getting Around
Getting around Orlando is easy. The city offers an excellent public transportation network, but I found renting a bicycle very convenient. There are numerous bike lanes, and the traffic is generally calm. For longer distances, ride-sharing services are a good alternative.
Food and Entertainment
When it comes to food, Orlando offers a wide range of options. From international cuisine restaurants to food trucks, there is something for every taste. A place I particularly liked is East End Market, an indoor market with various food stalls.
Nightlife and Safety
Orlando’s nightlife is vibrant, with many bars and clubs where you can have fun. However, it’s always important to stay vigilant and take the necessary precautions, especially when traveling alone. I found the city quite safe, but it’s always better to avoid poorly lit and crowded areas during nighttime.
Useful Tips
One tip I can give you is to always carry a water bottle. Orlando can be very hot, especially during the summer, and staying hydrated is essential. Also, if you are a digital nomad, make sure to have a good data plan, as public Wi-Fi is not always reliable.
Orlando, Florida, is a fantastic destination for digital nomads and solo travelers. The city offers a perfect mix of fun, relaxation, and work opportunities. With good organization and a few precautions, your trip to Orlando will surely be an unforgettable experience.
