Here I am in Pattaya, Thailand, ready for two months of adventure. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was sure it would be a fantastic experience.
The city overwhelmed me with its colors, smells, and tastes. The heat was intense, but the sea breeze made it pleasant. The streets were full of life, with tuk-tuks whizzing by and street vendors offering everything.
My day would begin with a walk on the beach in Pattaya, where I would admire the crystal clear sea and palm trees swaying in the wind. Then, I would immerse myself in the city’s vibrant beauty, exploring its markets, temples, and neighborhoods.
I visited the Shrine of Truth, a hand-carved teakwood temple, and the Big Buddha, an 18-meter-high golden statue located on a hilltop. I got lost in the alleys of Walking Street, where the lights of nightclubs come on in the evening and the rhythm of music becomes overwhelming.
The people
the Thais turned out to be a welcoming and warm people. Always ready to help you and make you feel comfortable, they made my experience authentic and full of humanity. I made friends with some local guys, with whom I shared dinners, laughter and adventures.
In Pattaya I was able to cultivate my passions. I learned to cook some typical Thai dishes, such as Pad Thai and Tom Yum Goong. I tried my hand at Muay Thai, Thai boxing, and snorkeled among the coral reefs.
Unforgettable moments
among the best memories is the boat trip to Koh Larn, a paradise island with white sandy beaches and crystal clear sea. Another unforgettable experience was climbing to the top of Khao Phra Tamnak, from which there are breathtaking views of the city and the gulf.
Thailand is a country rich in culture and spirituality. I visited several Buddhist temples, where I was able to breathe in an atmosphere of peace and serenity. I also participated in some religious ceremonies, which gave me a better understanding of the local culture and traditions.
After two months, it is time to say goodbye to Pattaya. I do so with some sadness, but with a heart full of indelible memories. This experience has enriched me and introduced me to a new world. A world that I hope to experience again soon.
